I was just notified that the Inter-Active ActiveRain Business Card is now available on iTunes. Last week, I posted a video on how the app works and received a great response from many of you iPhone users. That's not to say I didn't hear from the BlackBerry Crowd too! lol~
As promised, I said it was coming...now it's here.
There is already more functionality, a new mortgage calculator, and a feature that allows iPhone 3G users to click on a button while in front of a property, (or in a specific neighborhood), that returns them a google map geocoded with the location, photo, and details of that property.
I love this stuff, I think other iPhone users will too.
How Do I get it?
To get yourself a copy to check out, or test on your iPhone, just go to the iTunes store on your MAC or PC, and in the "Search" box, type "ActiveRain" and viola! It only takes seconds to install, and I think you'll enjoy some of these first features. (you may find a couple "rain radio" podcasts on iTunes as a bonus...shhh)
If you're an iPhone owner, you can download a copy of this app RIGHT HERE. It's easy to do, and it's FREE. You can also download it directly from your iPhone buy clicking the "AppStore Icon" then the "Search Tab" with "ActiveRain" as your search. I'd love to solicit your reviews, comments, and opinions over at the iTunes store. Once you've download the application, you'll see a button for "reviews" at iTunes, your feedback and support over there is appreciated, but only if you have the spare time. :-)
Getting My Own Customized App
Getting this application customized for you and your company or business will be easy. There'll be a launching of the site wizard this next week, giving you the capability to create one of these for your own iPhone. I'll have a post giving instructions and details on how to do this sometime next week.
Thanks for sharing in all the excitement with me, it's been a long time coming, and now I finally get to share it back. Take a moment and check it out, then you can decide how you'd want your own iPhone Business Card App to work. Or... you can just use mine to work and play in the "RAIN!" Enjoy!

Brad - Darn, I'm a TREO phone. Great new app for the iphone crowd!
Brad~ DUDE!!! Do I hear RAIN-BERRY app??? please! soon! MWA!
Well, I guess I need to check into some financing for an iphone! I mean really how cool is that "ActiveRain on the go" And is that a Rainmaker badge I see on there for the button?
That is too cool. I love the iphone, and I just saw a cnet.com video on the 3.0 release this summer. The copy and paste is fantastic. I also use the Facebook and linkedin.com free apps. I am going to itunes right now. Thanks!
Brad - When I get home, I will be downloading this new app. Thanks for the info!
Christine - at least you know it's there in case you ever switch. :-)
Laura - you'd be the perfect person to design that with a BlackBerry Developer, I like the thought of a RAIN-BERRY app, you need to call me.
Debbie - It is indeed the "RainMaker" emblem making its debut on iTunes! YEAH!!
Joe - I'm dying to hear what you think and to get your comments, you're killin me here... lol~
Jason - ..... I'll be waiting for your call..... :-)))
okay...downloaded it and will check it out. Will I be customizing from the one I downloaded or will I have to go download another one when you come out with instructions?
BTW...I clicked on the BLOG portion and it had 8 pages. I see where I can add a page...that's cool...but once in this section, it won't allow me to go back to the main menu. The back and forward arrows are grayed out. So, I have to exit out and then click the icon again to get the opening page (call us...visit us...email us) Also, the "Active Video" doesn't do anything...is there a video or just a blank button for now? Also, I don't have the G3 phone so maybe that's a difference?? Looks like a cool app...looking forward to further instructions!
I'm with Laurie..waiting for the "rainberry app." Thanks for sharing.
Brad - Do you people ever sleep! Another fantastic AR feature...now I just need an iPhone! I actually am holding out for the Palm Pre.
Hi Brad
Sounds like a great application, my next phone will be the I-phone.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
Brad - Grrrrrrr. I'm so frustrated. Am I really going to have to finally stop being so cheap and break down and get an iPhone. Does AT&T give you a cut? I hope so. Its not like I wasn't drooling over them already, but now with the customization and everything...ugh. I just want to play with it and see how it works. Regardless I'm very excited for you and this new app. I'll be looking for more in the future!
I cant wait until the wizard is set up for next week! I trust you will update us again? Mindy
Terri - There is a "more" tab and a "more" button at the top of the screen. The video comes right from Youtube which should be already accessible via your iphone. Of course if you go to the Web, it will leave the application as they are not connected and run separately. You'll find this with most apps that have to interact with each other on the iPhone. Most don't allow multiple windows and multi-tasking....yet!?! :-)
If you're interested in creating one of your own, it would not be done from the one you've just downloaded. It is not customizable or progammable from the users end.
This is my sample iPhone Business Card, so it can't be customized. You would need to create and design your own app, which I'll be posting about next week, as soon as I get word that the developer of this app has his site up and running. I haven't even seen it yet. This is all Brand New Stuff. It's been in Beta. Exciting wouldn't you say??
BTW - I don't have the 3G either.... (as Brad runs over to send Jon a text requesting a 3G for work) :-O
I downloaded the application and left a 5 star review.
Brad- downloaded to computer, now where is my cord to update my phone..sooo excited for a new free app. Be back for a review!
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME just downloaded it!
Great stuff Brad! Off to find my iPhone to download it now.
-- Zoltan
NICE! Just downloaded mine! Can't wait to make it a part of my life now!
Great info, Thanks so much.
Just installed it. I have some classes at the Realtor Board tomorrow, I may have to show it off.
brad,
thanks for the info. i just downloaded the app to my iphone. this is greatourse i love my iphone already. i do have the 3g but video does not play,
brad,
update to my former post. where is the button for finding info about a property when you are standing in front of a house? i found the mortgage info.
I'm so glad that I have a treo. Couldn't stand the pressure to learn another toy at this time. :-)
Looking forward to the Blackberry version.
That is so cool. WE need one for black berry!!!! Wehn is that coming? K M
I'm with wirginia on this. Would love to be able to use this cool tool but i'm maxed out on my learning curve right now.
Totally Awesome!!! Nuff said and well done!
Tina - we should get Laura to help build an app for Blackberry, I'd try, but I don't have one. Jeff Corbett lives and will die by his BB, we should get him involved too.
Simon - let me know more about the Palm Pre. I use to have the Treo w/ Windows CE before the iPhone.. loved it.
Thanks Lou - I guarantee, you'll love it, especially what they're coming out with in the upgrade. Apple does an awesome job for the most part. When they do something, they sure do it right.
Matt - you deserve one, you really do. Life is too short, just go buy one. I'd give you mine if I had an extra, I really would.
Mindy - just like this post here, as soon as I know, you'll know. I promise. Oh yeah ... thanks for the 5-star over at iTunes. MWA!! :-))
Katharine - if y download it right from the phone, you won't need to find the cord! lol~
Jeanette - I would love to see your review of it on iTunes. Be kind and gentle, it's the first of its kind ever and it just came out of beta. You're always so nice, don't change on me now!! BIG SMILE!!
Zoltan - looking forward to your call soon thereafter... I know you know my number.
Myra - that was just too cute. Didn't realize till you said that, how much it IS a part of mine.
Jean - anytime, there's an update coming soon to iTunes, you'll know when it's available.
Christopher - let me know what they thing if you do... thanks.
Linda - the iPhone uses a version of Youtube for videos, the property locator will be in the next release and update as soon as Apple and iTunes gets around to putting it on there. There are over 15,000 current applications for iPhones. We already released it, they just have to add it. You're gonna love it!! :-)))))
Virginia - it's not really a phone, it should be called an iMiniComputer. But they are really easy to learn, run, and operate.... or destroy if need be! lol~
Terry - join forces with some of the other members here and get theBlackBerry folks to create you guys some apps, for crying out loud. Don't they have an app store? There has to be someone working on this sort o thing for them. Have you checked with Blackberry to see if they plan on offering any such tools or features in the future? Inquiry minds here in the rain want to know...
Kristin - see my comments all above!! lol~ I'm sure the Blackberry Night in Shining Armor will be buy soon to help with a Blackberry app for you folks.
Lora - I know what you mean. Been there, done that! :-)
Pretty cool. Technology is amazing!
Brad: The sound of RAIN-BERRY does ring a nice tone... Looking forward to this.
So Brad,
When are you and your wife going to produce the first AR theme song?:))
Thanks for the AWESOME info. It is so much sometimes I get info overload. But not a complaint, I love it.
Thanks for the update, Brad - can't wait to take a look on my iphone!
I'll be "Re-blogging" this to my group at Technology for REAL People.
WOW...every time I think I have completely fallen in love with my Iphone...another great thing is brought to my attention. thanks for the info :)
Brad - Thanks. I know I deserve one, its the justification of my deserving status to my wife that I have to work on. Haha.
Cool ap Brad - I'd love one for the Blackberry!!
Brad I have an Iphone and I've already downloaded the AR app. But will be able to create my own application if I have a PC instead of a MAC?
I'm expecting to see a post about the "RAIN BERRY" soon! I would switch over to the iPhone but Verizon has me hooked with the blackberry.
Quick Update:
After Terri's comment above, I downloaded the app from iTunes and checked the video link and she is correct, it is currently not working. The update and fix along with the ability to use the "Home Locator" have been submitted and are now just waiting on iTunes to release. It could be a week or two before the update is available. Sorry for the minor bug, and thanks Terri for pointing that out. :-)
Tre - oh! Tre - oh! Tre - oh! Treo users need it toooooo! :-)
Justin - never nuff said, let me know what you think...
Don - yes it is and I love it.
Roland - I hear you loud and clear. I like the name "RainBerry" in fact one of he security words on AR IS Blackberry, so it only makes sense there should be an app for it. Send me a "BlackBerry" phone and I'll get right on it. :-)
Neal - we go into the studio today at 1:00pm. We'll have to add that one to our list.
Wendy - this one is really easy to use. No info overload this time.
Mike - I hope you'll like it, and thanks for the reblog, I really appreciate it.
Kristi - I know what you mean. You can't leave home without it. One time I did, and boy was I lost.
Matt - have her call me.
Dan - you and all the others, I know. I should write a post about the Blackberry just to see how many comments It would get. lol~
Lisa - wherever you connect your iPhone, and whatever operating system you use will work just fine.
IMF - I get the whole "hooked" thing my friend, AT&T and APPLE have those same hooks in me! :-)))
Michelle - shhhh... that's not a "RAIN Chant" but the Treo Gods are listening I'm sure... :-))
Just pick up some Google Alerts giving this little app some nice extra exposure:

Hi Brad,
Timed PERFECTLY. I just got an IPHONE on Saturday. I downloaded this AP and was able to SHOW people just what Active Rain is. Before just talking about it seemed made AR a deep "concept" that was hard to understand.
THANKS!
Me
Hi Brad,
Sounds like a new and exciting application I might have to check on getting an IPHONE now!
Holy moly ! Im thinking we may have to get an IPhone. So is this application coming to Blackberry then too soon ?
Thanks Brad. I just downloaded the app to my phone and will check it out. Always appreciate any new things you find on the iPhone.
Hey Brad, App for a blackberry? Waaaaaah. I may have to get an iphone. Then again, maybe not!
Just loaded to my iphone. That's great! Way to go! Look forward to your future messages surrounding apps. Thanks!
Sarah Hardy
Wow, this is exciting. I downloaded it onto my iTouch (anxiously awaiting for my current provider contract to end so I can get the real thing) and it's fabulous. Thanks to you and the Technology gods!
Hi Brad, The Itunes app is great! Just downloaded. Thanks for the tip.
Brad - uploaded the app...and will play with it later...thanks to everyone for their hard work...
With smiles, Bo
Brad, that is VERY cool, too bad I have a TREO, but I think my next phone will be an iphone!
The ActiveRain iPhone Business Card just got picked up by Aptism, they track over 28,000 iPhone applications. You can find out more at: http://www.apptism.com/apps/activerain
The AR iPhone app is simply a Business Card that allows users to find out more about ActiveRain and interact with the site just as they would with your business card application. See iTunes appstore and leave a review.
Wondering when you will get the platform to other brands. Windows mobile, Blackberry, the new Palm. etc. It sounds pretty cool. I'm trying to get my client to download it so I can play with it.
Hey Mike - The AR platform is available to any Brand right now as long at you have Internet access. My app here is basically just a business card for the iphone that interacts with the site a bit more efficiently. It's what I setup and wanted it to do.
It's not an iPhone application as much as it is an interface to promote AR, give search capabilities, and use as a business cards for my friends who own iphones.
If you have Blackberry, TREO, Windows mobile etc, you should still be able to access AR from them (with Internet Access). As far as applications go, you never know what AR will come up with next???? :-))
Awesome app, Brad! Thanks for sharing.
Very cool! I left a comment and a 5 star review. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Another great reason to get an iPhone ... too bad it doesn't make coffee :-(
Jean - let me know what you think of the app once you get your new iphone. I can show you how it will make coffee!! :-O
just downloaded! thx
