Ok, so I am currently helping Dona Reynolds get her outside blog up and running and one of the issues that we kept face was an error message over and over whenever we tried to load her profile picture. After trying on both web browsers on numerous days, and also scouring through Activerain for a solution, I finally decided to contact Brad Andersohn for assistance.
Upon speaking with Brad, we answered the problem quickly. The issue was the size of the picture.
While the site currently says the picture should be no wider than 189 pixels, it should actually say the profile picture needs to be EXACTLY 189 pixels wide.
Once I resized the photo, I had no more problems and was able to finish the set up of Dona's outside blog. So, if you have been trying to set up your photo and have not been able to add it to your outside blog profile yet, try resizing the picture to the 189 pixels wide and you will be able to upload instantly.

Okay -- that is a great tip -- I am sure all will be greatful for this time-saving information.
I actually even tried resizing it to exactly 189 and it did not work so I just through in a different picture
Thanks so much Jeremy! I have been struggling with this and getting the little red x for about two weeks now. I keep reminding myself to check it out w/the AR guru's but haven't had time! Thanks for solving my mystery. KM
I also discovered this the hard way. About 3 hours of frustration before I finally resolved it.
This is a good bit of information to have. Thanks for sharing. It's timely for me as I am about to do a full make-over on my outside blog.
I had the same problem last year. I decided to chabge the picture size and it worked.
Jeremy, Your such a nice guy for putting that much effort into helping someone. I had that problem and just put another picture in and went on.
Jeremy,
Thanks for passing this info along!!! Thanks, Fran
Hi Jeremy,
Yes, that was an issue we came across early on as well. We believe they've since changed the wording to say "exactly". Thanks for letting others know, you're always usually one of the first to notice something on this network.
