It's true. If you own an iPhone, you can now interact with the ActiveRain Real Estate Network of friends and business partners from anywhere your iPhone browser works. This is not an iPhone application, it's a browser enhancement from our AR developers. (great job guys)
At 2:00am, we deployed a fix that will now allow you to post, and comment on ActiveRain Blogs using your iPhone. Members have been waiting for this upgrade and I'm glad to announce it is finally launched. It's great. We're also working on an iPhone application that will be custom tailored and made available for ActiveRain members later.
The only things you can't do from the phone right now are create links, add images, and there's no text toolbar for bold text etc. So now you can create a post from anywhere, make edits, add and delete comments using just the iPhone browser. (iPhone uses the Safari browser)
You can email posts to others right from the iPhone using the email graphic icon that's below each post.
10 minutes is all it took to create this using just my thumbs, (haha) it's a new record for an ActiveBrad post.
We've taken one small step for mankind, one Giant step for Activerain and iPhone.
This was created and posted using the iPhone. I'll add a picture from my computer later. I love my iPhone.

Awesome! I can't wait to give it a try!
Brad,
You guys must be reading the iPhone posts and Twitter. I tried it before and it works. Thanks!
Rich
Whoa! Blogging from my iphone, how on earth will I ever escape this new addiction!!
-Karin :)
Brad- OK so when is the app going to be ready for the real serious business people who use blackberries?:)
Can you set it up for the Blackberry Storm next? That is the "NEW" Phone!
how do u actually get there? i went to activerain.com on my iPhone and it looks just like activerain.com isnt the interface any different?
I just bolded the text in this post using the HTML code and it worked. Yeah!!! Katerina, you can use your blackberry browser if it has one, and see if it works. :-)
... I so wish the iPhone was usable with Verizon :o(
.... but fabulous news with the iPhone access Brad !!!!! Cheers !
Hey Brad
I was kicking the idea around about getting an Iphone. Now I know I will.
All my best!
Tom Braatz
Matt - the screen will look the same as it does on your computer browser. iPhone just uses a different browser and until now, you couldn't comment or post. Any browser will let you open AR on any phone. Don't forget to login first, I see you weren't logged in here when you commented.
TIP: watch out for those 100 plus comment posts, they take a few seconds to load. :-)
Oh, I am so jealous! I love my Blackberry but there are times when an iPhone does rock! Great job you guys!
Brad,
That is awesome! Now all I need is the iPhone. Looking at picking one up in Feb. when my contract renews with my cell phone provider.
Brad - I just broke my treo (see my post), and the next purchase will be an Iphone. I'm assuming that you think it's the best tool for us bloggers since you have one. Thanks for the post. It's very timely for me.
Very Cool Brad, I am off to try it on my Blackberry now!
Brad - Very exciting news. I can't get it to work on my Blackberry (OperaMini or AT&T's anger-inducing browser). AT&T's won't even let me log in. OperaMini allows me to log in, but I can't post or comment. The box appears but allows nothing to happen. I'll keep messing with it - I would be nice to be able to reply to comments while on the go.
What great newz for iphone users! I have one more year on my locked-in contract...I'll have to delay gratification on this one!
Brad, that's terrific...now if only I had an iPhone...Blackberry here but this is terrific and I bet Jeff is in 7th heaven!
Brad, tried several ways of making it work with no success...I used to be able to at least read the posts and comments, just not leave any...now it wont even do that....gives me an error message. Tell Jorgen to hurry up with a BB version!
Well, that's pretty cool. I just got an iPhone after Christmas. The thing is that the keyboard on the iPhone is not really a very friendly keyboard (at least not to me....yet) so I don't know how much posting I'll do. Maybe a lot of blog reading. Maybe.
This is awesome news! I love my iphone and I love Active Rain. So, having the ability to post comments from my phone is super cool.
Kathy
Brad... I am SOOOO Excited about this announcement. I didnt know that was a fix that AR was working on. I knew I could not comment (doubt i'll ever post from iPhone) and it was sad :-( But I would always read comments. Thanks for the news!
Did you post this in the iPhone group? Great news!
WAY cool - gotta love that. I love our iPhone and now I love it even more!
Brad, it is truly awsome! Thank you guys! I will try it tomorrow...I am beat tonight.
With smiles,
BO
that's cool Brad. I'll give it a go. I'm an early iPhone adapter. I've been that way with Apple products since 1984.
maybe i should get an iphone??
Brad. Damn you.
Now that I can use AR by Iphone, my battery won't last past 4pm without a charge! Yet another reason to love this gadget. Thank you Brad!
For those who have held back on purchasing an Iphone because AT&T's network consists of three twigs, two rubber bands, some bailing wire and a whole lotta luck...the power to unlock the phone for use on ANY network is now available. Just Google Iphone Hacks. I unlocked mine in minutes. Now I have to choose between Verizon or Sprint.
AT&T, your world, disconnected.
How cool is this. My next message will be from my IPhone. Cool!
Brad - pretty cool! Now all I need to do is update to an Iphone... lol Old school here still. Gotta use the A/R interface for now. Great ideas though still coming from you guys/girls
I LOVE MY IPHONE!!!
I dont own an IPhone but I can see the importance of being mobile. My blog here on ActiveRain I made mobile a few months ago.
Thank you! I love my iPhone. I am actually addicted to cell phones and laptop computers - I have three cell phones. One I use as a personal line/modem when outside a WiFi area; a business number so I can still have a life outside of real estate (if you only have one phone number, you can't turn it off) and then there is my iPhone. I knew I would get it when Apple announced the 3G version. I transferred my land line number - dedicated to family members only - to my iPhone so I get very few calls. The apps are so fantastic. Now, with ActiveRain compatibility I am just about set.
Have a wonderful day,
Catherine
Yee Hah (as we sometimes say in Texas)! I love my iphone and thanks for making this available. All you BB fans, come on in the water's just fine!
I went to the Apple store last weekend and WOW.. was there a lot to look at! I am getting an iPhone for sure now. Have you created an AR symbol yet for a quick link? :))
Thanks for the addition. The iphone allows me to leave my home or office without my laptop. Never thought that would happen.
Tony
Although it took a few extra seconds to load, it works on my Blackberry Storm :D All the best.
Lori - I kinda like this one...
Dominic - great news for all my Blackberry friends here, thanks. :-)
Hi Brad - any chance you know anyone who has succesfully unlocked the iPhone and is using the Verizon network to use the phone ?
I was on my way to Best Buy today when a friend of mine said the AT&T contract may be up this summer and Verizon may get the contract ?
...I'm bloody salivating to get this little rascal but I'm locked into (and love) Verizon !
Cheers !
Sheldon - Stanley above makes mention of something along those lines, understand I am not endorsing nor suggesting you try to unlock your phone. (I know many who have, but I must remain nuetral on that topic) :-)
I really like that Brad. Plain and simple... yet great image! How about a blue drop instead of the gray? Just my 2 pennies.
Very cool, my next switch will be too the IPhone, now that I am using MobileMe, it will work beautifully in keeping all my updates on anything synced.
Great enhancement as I wouldn't want to think of living without my iPhone!! (PS...thanks for all your help today!!!) Even though I usually catch your posts, I subscribed to your blog because I don't want to miss a thing you say!
Any enhancements available for the Treos
Zilkia - what browser are you using to access the internet on your TREO? Are you using the PALM or the WINDOWS CE version? LMK... :-)
Brad, it works. I can now comment right from my I-Phone, but it was still quite cumbersome. I had a hard time finding the submit comment button and it was still quite slow.
When are we getting the ap for the I-Phone? I know that since getting the Facebook ap, it's a breeze to navigate that site.
Mirela - coming soon to an iPhone near you!! (Big Smile)
There are only a few of us and though at times we are stereotyped as AR Gods, in reality, we are still only human and do the best we can. It's on the list to be done but not a priority like Localism, groups, and other fixes and upgrades. I know you understand, thanks. :-)
Thanks so much for letting me know about this! I am an iPhone addict and this makes my day. :)
Brad,
I just won an iphone in a raffle. I was trying to decide if it would be worth changing my phone service for it. Sounds like there are a lot of reasons to make the switch.
Also, thanks so much for helping me get going with my new outside blog www.metrowestareablog.com
I couldn't have done it without you! You're a life saver!
Cant wait to try it!
Brad, I'm another iPhone Addict - rapidly becoming an Activerrain addict, too, after only about 9 days of being a member.
Thanks for the info.
Just wait till you see my next post, it's won one you won't want to miss...... :-))))
I love the way you guys have adapted to the iPhone. First this and then the iPhone business card app. I'm loving ActiveRain more and more each day.
Brad - ActiveRain is loading fast and is pretty easy to view on my iPhone.
Sam - it does seem to load really fast on my iPhone as well. It's nice to be able to access posts, read features, and make comments from the iPhone when on the road. :-)
Hello Brad - Does that go for the iPad as well? Just curious. I wrote a "Please Help Me Stop Hating My iPad" blog yesterday because I can't comment or post from it.
Hey Andy - hopefully they'll get that working soon. I know many of the other similar sites now allow for interaction from both iphones and ipads, I think the programmer at AR should look into this for sure. Maybe even bump it up on the priority list?
Just my 2 cents~ :-)
Hello Brad - Thanks for having tham check into this. I also appreciate that fact that you took the time to reply to my comment. Thanks a bunch and have a great evening.
Andy - if you ever need anything else, feel free to let me know. Always happy to help out a fellow AR member. :-)
awesome! now I can comment on the go!
Next step would be Active Rain application. I just checked and did not find it....(?)
Time to create one:)
What do you think?
