Shannon Gilmore wrote about the new feature on Activerain that allows you to automatically tweet your posts to Twitter. While I am very happy this feature has been added, I wanted to share a way to take the use of this application a step further. When I started using twitter a few months back, I found a really neat application for my facebook account.
By using this application, whenever I send a tweet, it automatically updates my facebook wall and changes my status on facebook. Since the name of the game is exposure, I would definitely suggest setting this easy application up. It took me about 2 minutes to do. Here is a link to the Twitter Application for Facebook.
What I love about this application is that my local friends are now receiving easy feeds to all of my Myrtle Beach Real Estate information. They see the update pop up on Facebook and click to see what I have written. Since adding this feature I have received a few calls and definitely many more discussions when around friends. Also, it allows me to remind my friends on facebook daily that Jeremy Blanton is their Myrtle Beach Real Estate Expert. The continual repetition of Myrtle Beach Real Estate information being sent to these accounts will hopefully lead to more readership of my Myrtle Beach Real Estate Blog & more closed transactions.
With the newest feature of feeding your Activerain Real Estate Blog to Twitter and onto Facebook, the need for setting up feedburner has become even more prevalent. If you are like me and have not set up feedburner to allow consumers to subscribe to your blog through RSS feed, visit Justin Smith's 2 part tutorial here. I am off to set mine up now!
** UPDATE **
Several have had issues with this not working because of the privacy settings in Twitter. Make sure to change your settings in twitter by unchecking the box below!

Jeremy -- Thanks for these great tips. I will have to set these up on Twitter - and I am not sure I ever set up facebook! These things are going to go on my to do list for this week.
Jeremy, I've been trying to get a handle on the benefits of twitter andI don't use facebook--so I really appreiate the information you provide here and I am bookmarking it.

Jer...
Hot dang, I didn't know about either of these apps. I'll get on these right now! Thansk.
John- Set up a facebook, you would be amazed how many people you can find there that you know...it is just another way to reach an audience of readers!
Thanks for the info. I went to the link and it wasn't working for me. I am sure it is my 'issue' so I will work it out.
Mel- lets fix it now!
Thanks for the info. I am trying to start working with Twitter.
Twitter is fun Carol!
Jer - I was happy to see that they added it, but I had already set it up a few months ago. It is a terrific idea to broadcast our posts elsewhere, like Facebook, Twitter, etc. No reason not to maximize the exposure for the stuff we write.
Hope you're having a great day! I saw that both of our teams lost yesterday - inexcusable.
Jeremy I like this feature for Facebook along with sending all my blog posts via the share this button.
Bill I like the share this too...but this one does it automatically to those places.
Jason- our teams were both terrible yesterday...I couldnt believe we didn't score from like the 1" line!
Jeremy- This afternoon I was in the middle of writing this post but then I scrolled down the comments section of that app. Did you take a look there? It looks VERY ugly. It seems the application doesnt really work. I dont know if you had any luck with it but it was being weird with mine. I thought it was a cool idea.
Don't forget. You can send all updates through ping.fm and they will update all your social networks including facebook and twitter.
Jeremy, you the man. I must admit I haven't even read how to do it yet, but this is exactly what I need. I joined Facebook 2 weeks ago and twitter last night. My posts are now on Twitter, and I want to learn how to get them everywhere else. Any tricks on myspace, or am I just being greedy!
Ken
Jeremy, I did this a few months ago, not knowing I was doing anything cool, and you are right - I have had Facebook folks find my AR stuff and buzz me. I just have to get my butt to Twitter.
I've been on both for weeks now and haven't learned how to fully utilize either of them. Just felt like a waste of time. Thanks so much for the tip.
I tried using the link, but it didn't work... Great ideas and post, though!
Jer...
Looks like we both "made the grade" today. Congrats on the star!
Emily- make sure you do this step!
Only let people whom I approve follow my updates. If this is checked, you WILL NOT be on the public timeline.
I have joined Linkedin, facebook, twitter, plaxo so it is wonderful to know one place will link all the social networks. Thank you!
Jeremy, this was a great point to bring up about the protect my updates. There is about a 10 minute lag time from post to post on twitter. John Walters and I was just talking about Twitter and something like this today. Follow me on twitter as well frankrubi.
Jeremy,
This is on the to do list for tomorrow. Thank you.
I am still trying to figure all this stuff out! I am sure it will work great once I understand it all!
Frank, I haven't watched closely enough to see the time it takes to post...
Great info, thanks for sharing...I love things that make it easier to stay up to date across multiple platforms.
Jer,
This was fast. I think that it was faster than setting up Facebook. Now I am off to learn how to setup feedburner.
Thank you for this update and congrats on the Gold Star my friend.
Thanks I just added it, waiting to see if it posts my last twit and how long it takes.
Hey Jeremy, very cool I appreciate the mention and I just added it myself. I love this feature!
Can you control which posts go to twitter and facebook? If so then I'm in.
Thanks Jeremy, between you and Brad...I got all set up. This is pretty cool!
Thanks Jeremy, I did not even know what that was as of yesterday.
Thanks for the info and the post. Will definitely have to look into this as I am still a little hesitant.
Hi Jeremy. Thank you. As a current facebook user who odoes not use Twitter much, I am off to do as you suggest before I finish my time here this morning on AR. Thank you for the information.
Jeremy - Thanks for the information. I find that pingfm works well for updating all of my social networking sites at one time.
I added this to my facebook page immediately. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing - I just signed up for the Facebook a couple weeks ago!
Thanks for the info. I know this will be useful. I just need to set up a facebook account and get on twitter, and away I will go. I have bookmarked this for sure.
Hey man this post was very good, keep it up!
Okay, so this is my second go round with this post. I have a facebook account now, so just need to get set up on twitter.
This is great Jeremy, the type of blog posts I am looking for, how to juice up the active rain, twitter, facebook relationships. Perfect!!
I still think that ping.fm is the best way to go, it provides a really nice harmony among all my social networking apps!
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but my blog posts are not showing up in twitter. My updates in twitter are not protected.
It appears my active rain settings for twitter are correct but what I posted to my blog - nothing.
Any idea what I'm missing?
Thank you Jeremy, I have been wondering if this could be done.
So everything you tweet goes on your wall? Is there a way to not put everything out there? Just some tweets? That could be a lot of stuff on your wall....facebook is a little overwhelming for me at the moment...I can't keep up with everything....
Right now I am looking intently at improving my links between active rain, tweeter, facebook, and linkedin. These are exactly the posts Im looking for.
I am just diving into the world of Twitter...still can't figure out how to get my posts over there..but working on it..Just got it to my facebook page...fun fun
Tara, go to your Active Rain settings. scroll down almost half way and where Twitter is indicated put in your twitter name and password. Your next post should go to Twitter.....
Thanks for the information. Very useful!
Thanks for your good ideas. I'm still struggling to figure out how, when and to what level to push the social networking.
Well, I added it, but being completely dumb when it comes to Facebook, I don't know where it went!
Thanks for the information. I need to work on my active rain and Facebook both this week.
I'm not sure this is set up properly for me to have my posts fed to Facebook so I'll go check.
Great information, that is next on my list. I am still trying to figure out how to get my picture on my replies like this with no avail. Anybody know how? Sure would appreciate the help.
Thanks
I also tried this, but it did not work---a screen popped - they're "working on it"-----using ping.fm accomplishes the same thing- only took a few minutes to set up Twitter, LinkedIn and facebook-thx for the info!
Jeremy, I'm going to bookmark this and try it ASAP! Thanks for the good info!
I must admit that I do have a twitter and mysteriously have a few dozen followers, but have never really figured out how to use it or subscribed to anyone else. Not sure I really want to hear updates about other people and what they are doing.
Thanks for the info. I followed your instructions and got it up and going.
This is exciting. Post one time, and have it be in 3 places. Thanks for the tip. I have my blogs forwarded to Twitter, but did not know Twitter can forward to Facebook. This is a great timesaver.
