Are You Grazing on the RSS Feed?

Better yet, are you allowing your clients and readers to? I'm talking about RSS Feeds. How do you link your Blogs to your Websites and visa versa? Would you rather people find your post one at a time (like they do now) or would you like them to be able to access "many" posts in one location?

Here's one way. For those of you who understand RSS Feeds, this will make a lot of "sense." For those who don't, I'll try and make "cents" of it for you. :-) The Widget below allows your readers to access many of your posts from your Blog. You can also add other Sites and Blogs to your RSS Feed Reader. There are some feeds that will offer valuable information to your clients and other viewers. Try it!

Best part about this RSS Feed Widget, is that clients and readers won't have to leave your Blog or Website to view all the great information you have to offer. Also, using the RSS Feeds from other "Value-Added" sites and Blogs, makes you the source, and therefore their best resource. You can pull from any Site or Blog that has the RSS logo up in your Browsers address bar. It's that easy! There's nothing better than the price either. FREE

RSS Feed simply means to publish frequently updated content such as Blog entries, News Headlines, Podcasts or Videos etc. This RSS Feed Reader is by Grazr.com, and is just the tool you may need to keep readers at your site, reading through ALL your posts, with the ability to select the one's that interest them most. Don't wait for Google to help your clients find that single post, help them find your entire Blog!

You can use the "BIG" widget above, customized to any size, style or color. Or you can use the "small" image below, to have a more subtle effect. I think it's pretty clear which one I like! LOL! Click on the image below, and watch what happens, it's really very cool. Trust me, click on it!

See what I mean? I'm still here. I love that feature!
(This will make sense if you clicked on the image)

So if you're looking for a way to link your website to your Blog, and your Blog to your website,
this might just be a very useful tool for you. There are many ways to use a tool like this for your business, I thought this would be a good start to at least introduce you to the concept of RSS Feeds, and provide you a nifty little platform to utilize them. I am also using this on my Cre8buzz Profile page. Don't let your eyes graze over, get grazing, it's an "Amazing Graze!" :-)

Aside from the seriously twisted puns... good points.  Getting the blog out there and convenient to your readers is what it is all about.

Okay I am going to set this up on my website.  i am sure there are people going to my website that don't know about my blog and vice versa.
Posted by Todd & Danielle Millar, A decade of excellence! (Glenn Simon Inc.) over 6 years ago
Susan - the real reason I like this is because if someone loads your feed, they see all your posts, not just your most recent one.  Maybe this will keep our posts alive a bit longer.  It is a great alternate solution to having or adding your Blog to your Website as well.   :-)

Brad- I see a HUGE blue square on your page. No words, am I supposed to click on something to see something happen? I did like the much smaller version of course and that one worked just fine. I have an account with Grazr and have used it before. I have heard of Cre8buzz and it's invitation only. Can you be the one to invite me? I need to check that site out too. Thanks for another fine tip!

Thanks for this information Brad. We figured out how to add a "Subscribe to our Blog" on our website where it allows the reader to enter their email address and they begin receiving our blogs.

Brad , It is just so obvious and on my other site, I really missed the boat. Will get it fixed with the RSS feed and I'll bet it will make a difference just like you are saying here. Many Thanks for this reminder. How could so many of us have overlooked such an obvious mistake? Great Post that should be featured because it will make a difference. .

How timely, Brad!  Just yesterday I finally dived in to get this news reader thing figured out.  I have no problem adding your AR feed link to my Google Reader from the AR-provided RSS link, but when I use your "subscribe link" (the one under site meter) all that ports over to my reader is "title unknown" and no content.  I got the same thing when I tried your Technobabble blog.  Any ideas why?  Can you please drop an RSS link to your Technobabble blog in your comment back to me here?

Chris & Maria - I hope you'll take time to use the one I added as well.  This way, you don't have to search the dashboard for any new posts.  Are you using the feedblitz service as your subscribe by email?  That's the one I use, just curious.  :-)

William - there is something about finding out a new thing that makes us feel like we made a mistake or that we are dummy's, and missed something, but the reality is that we can't know everything!   Glad you got to see this, sooo many others won't....that's the mistake and sad part of our Blogs.  These just disappear after time into the blogosphere. :-)

David - TIME MAGAZINE man of the Year?!?  WOW - that is the highest compliment ever paid in my history on AR!!  Thanks for that, but I find it pretty unlikely that a Title and Escrow Guy form California who writes Blogs for Active Rain would ever make the cover of TIME Magazine.  Maybe the Back Cover of MAD Magazine!  LOL! :-)

Linda - very timely I'd say...you can have all your Blogs tied together and your websites too.  I like grazr because there are so many customizable options and you don't lose your readers if they click on someone else's RSS Feed that you've added to your reader.  What a great way to give other AR members some link love.  I am creating one now that will have the Featured Agent from every state on AR.  Watch for my next post on that one, you'll love it!  :-)

RSS 2.0 Feed for this blog

Jeanean - Yes, It's dynamic. As you post, your reader picks it up. That applies to any other feeds you add as well. To understand more about RSS feeds, just click on the link I included in the post. There is a definition there and it might make more sense to you after you read that. Let me know if you need more help. :-)

Hi Brad - Good widget!  I just don't think I have enough posts on my blog yet.  I am still a bit confused about how to use RSS feeds, but I'm learning.  I have a question, though.  If this is on my blog, will it just pick up the public posts, or will it pick up the titles of the Members only posts as well?  Thanks!

Elaine - this is a great question.  It WILL NOT pick up your "Members Only" posts!  Only those that you select to be public, and it will pick those up automatically as you post them. So you better get to posting, you only need a few to start getting additional readers.  I'd hate to have people only seeing 1 post at a time on your Blog, this way, they'll see all your posts.  I think it rotates after 15 or 20.

So little time and so much to learn about successful blogging.  I'm still on the ground level, but thanks to your helpful information I expect to improve my site little by little!

Excellent.   I knew what RSS was as a concept, but I had not really paid attention to it as a practical application.......until now.  Thanks for the tips.

Bill - thanks my friend, this reader is one of the best out there I think.  Regarding "The Buzz", I have no idea what I'm doing over there.  I have trouble with their posts there! Maybe you can hook me up?  There seems to be some limitations that I need to get used to.  I don't know what I did or how I got into #1 position, but I am happy to lay out and get you back in 1st place!!  I think all my experimentation over there must have pushed me and them over the edge!!  LOL!!  Thanks for the invite, it's a pretty cool site, but I think it has quite a ways to go to get to an AR level. Love the startups though, they're starting out just like AR had to. Thanks again Bill, you are the man!!  B-)

Rob - I'll be taking a vacation soon, better grab all you can get while you can!  hahaha  If I slow down now, what will I do?  I can't imagine going back to needle knit and crochet at this point!  My Bingo Class is scheduled to start in 10 years so I really need to get all this stuff out there! LOL!  We're talking next generation coming soon here, so no slowing down right now my friend! Have a great weekend!  :-)

Brad:  I have not a clue how to do this but your post has me wanting to pursue it further.  I attempted it one time before and gave up (too easily) I might add.  I was afraid it would show member only blogs and so I was reluctant but reading through your comments, I see that someone else had the same concern and you have answered it.  So, I'm off to the Grazr site to see what I can do.  Thank you.
Posted by Donna Yates Real Estate - serving, North Georgia Metro & Mountains (ReMax Town and Country) over 6 years ago
Donna - this is a piece of cake. No "Members Only" posts, you can add other blogs, and it only takes a few minutes to do.  If you need help, just let me know.  Now go graze, so you can amaze!!  :-)

Donald - this one will really help generate you more readers, and will help you expose your Blog (not just your post) to many who would be interested.  I highly recommend incorporating this into your other Blogs and websites.  I have already witnessed the success from others who have done this since this post was written.  :-)

This RSS feed reader really works well.

I have been running it on other Blogs and sites and it is driving traffic back here to my Active Rain Blog.  I know this works, the tracking tells me where visitors have come from, and my RSS feed reader is the only way they could have gotten here.  Great stuff, just wanted to share that! :-)

Posted by Brad Andersohn, ActiveBrad 707.646.1876 (Zillow - Nat'l Outreach Mgr & Dir. of Zillow Academy) over 6 years ago
So how is it working for you?  Are you using RSS feeds on your Blog or Website?  Are you getting more hits and view on older posts?  I have been getting comments now on posts that were written over 6 months ago.  I attribute that to my RSS feed reader built into my site and other Blog.  Can't think of any other way folks would be digging up my older posts!  :-)

Dan - This RSS Feed widget is my favorite. I can pull any blog into it and share it all in one location. Check out BradsDomain.com, It's my entire web page right now. Let me know if you need any help with these RSS feed tools, they can be very useful on your websites and blogs.  :-)

Any idea what's going on with the outside blogs' RSS feeds?
