As I have shared over the past few weeks, I have been extremely busy with Webinars for our new members teaching them how to write posts effectively for search engines & also to be appealing to consumers. In the classes I share how to write posts to rank well in the search engines as well as making your posts appealing to a consumer who comes to read what you have written.
During the webinars, one of the questions that normally comes up is Why do I need to be a Rainmaker? While there are thousands of reasons why everyone should be a rainmaker, I decided to just share 6 of the most important ones.
- Google Dominance- This is a no-brainer. If you write it properly, it will rank well in Google. It doesn't take months and years to start ranking well in Google. If you don't believe me, read about one of the members who became a Rainmaker in less than 10 hours of sending two posts public was #1 & #2 on Google! If you take the training that ActiveRain offers our Rainmakers and put it to use for you, the same results can be yours.
- Blog views get a steroid injection. If you are trying to figure out how to get more traffic to your blog, then a Rainmaker is a great option. Did you know that our Rainmakers Average 500 views per post? Here are some really interesting stats from a member who recently became a rainmaker.
Before After

These stats were taken immediately after becoming a Rainmaker and you can see the results. In an instant their blog traffic increased 4 times what it was on posts before being a Rainmaker. This happens instantly because when you become a Rainmaker you get to have your posts show up in the search engines and also be read by consumers.
- Increase of Income- This is probably my favorite reason for becoming a Rainmaker. Once you become a rainmaker, you can really increase your revenue. I don't need to prove that a Rainmaker Membership can increase your income, many of our members already have:
Over the past week or two, I had two referrals from my friends here at ActiveRain, AND one of the biggest closings we've had in months. The closing came from a consumer who found my blog months ago and became a "fan". -Jason Crouch
While almost 60% of the members who joined Active Rain at the same time I did, have not used this amazing marketing tool, I have garnered close to sixty (YES, sixty!!!) new clients through my blogging on AR. I literally credit ActiveRain with saving my business during these trying times. -Mirela Monte
- Posts show up on Localism. "The World's Most Complete Neighborpedia" When you are writing content about your local area this gives you a great secondary avenue to share your information & increase your Internet exposure by double instantly.
- ActiveBlogs- Think of the endless marketing opportunities by having your blog show up on it's own domain name. For example, which would you prefer seeing on a business card? http://activerain.com/blogs/jeremy or http://activejeremy.com? Just how Localism gives you another avenue to share your content exponentially, your ActiveBlog does the same thing by offering a third place to syndicate your content to.
- Top Notch Training- The training & knowledge you can obtain on ActiveRain is alone enough reason to become a Rainmaker. Between the webinars offered by ActiveRain and also the great information shared by members you can learn enough to revolutionize your business and take it to the next level.

I have several agents that have tried to sign up for Localism and gotten an email back saying there was a waiting list???
Jeremy,
Very nice posting, very informative, nice presentation!
-David
Hi, Jeremy. Only 6 reasons?? What happened to the other 94? LOL.
Jeremy - I couldn't agree with you more and thanks for the read!
Jeremy, I signed up as a Rainmaker and was told that I would have the benefit of Localism - but when I tried I was told that it was not available at the time for anyone new but that I would be put on a waiting list. That was quite a while ago. I'm still glad that I signed up to be a Rainmaker though.
Jeremy, it me a while before I got any business from my blogging, but now I am contacted by clients who first found me through on of my blogs. What is amazing is that lately several of the contacts that I have received have been from blogs that I wrote a number of months ago.
Jeremy,
No doubt that writing effectively for the search engines and consumers makes a difference. It wasn't until this year that I really started paying attention to it and I am consequently having my best year ever in real estate.
Go, Go, SEO! lol. You're darn straight about the Google SEO power from our blogs! And thanks for answering the phone when I called and woke you and your wife the other night =/ Sorry!
All great reasons to be a rainmaker. The benefits are really endless in my opinion. I will be in your lovely city at Ripken next weekend. Im looking forward to see those baseball fields.
Jeremy, thanks again for all the assistance you've given me over the years. I signed up last night for one of the webinars. I need all the help I can get as you well know!!!
Jeremy, this is excellent data.
I have no doubt that the stat's are true. Anyone blogging here that isn't a Rainmaker needs to really study this post.
The stat's are amazing.
Jeremy I hope your post covinces more folks to become Rainmakers - I wouldn't have it any other way - I have benefited professionally Karen
The first was enough to convince me. Thanks for sharing Jeremy.
Great post about becoming a RainMaker. If I get a better looking domain name by getting an outside blog, can I get a featured post some day? ;)
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Where do I find the signup for $5? I click it, but it tells me I'm already a RainMaker, which is true, but I don't have an outside blog yet.
Jeremy-I'm getting ready to be part of a panel at an upcoming convention talking about blogging and social networking. Here is the bottom line for me so far this year. $2,590,000 in sales can be directly attributed to my blog. Yep that is a real number. I have four more properties under contract and two current buyers also tied to my blog. If anyone doesn't get it yet then I don't know what else any of us can do!
Jeremy, I must say that the training I have received has improved my results.
Jeremy: Thank you. I like those. For me, Active Rain has been about building relationships and learning from my other smarter peers. I appreciate your insight. Take care.
Jeremy...
I agree that this is a no-brainer. This is by far the most cost-effective way to get your message out there in so many relevant real estate arenas.
You KNOW that I am a believer!
You make excellent points here ... thanks for your efforts! I think I speak for all people in all the land when I say, "We appreciate you!"
Jeremy - I'm sold! Oh wait, I was already sold anyway. If anyone doesn't believe in the benefits of being a Rainmaker, all they have to do is ask around. They'll learn of all the amazing stories around here.
Oay...unfair. I had to commentbecause you have the cutest baby ever. It makes me miss the days when mine were so little. Make it RAIN!
Great recap Jeremy of all the great benefits of being on Active Rain .....
I also think there are many more reasons then this!
Jeremy - Thanks for quoting me in your post! I have had a LOT of consumers who have found my AR blog over the past couple of years. While it would be possible to do this without the built-in SEO power of AR, it would have taken a lot longer with more headaches.
Thanks so much, I agree totally. There are many reasons to sign up for AR .

Jeremy --- great post on reasons to be a rainmaker -- I have bookmarked it for later use.
Mama Liz
BTW --- Happy Birthday.
Jeremy - You have picked some great 6 reasons!!! I can't imagine why no one would want to be a Rainmaker! I owe quite a bit to Active Rain and don't think for a minute that I have ever forgot that!
great information as always. I have closed 1 deal now from being a rainmaker and that is since August...the return on investment thus far has been great.
I absolutely agree! This is one of the best platforms for bringing information to clients and peers!
I just had a nice lady in Minnesota email me from my AR blog to help her get her home sold. Within 5 minutes I had a great AR agent ready to help her. I love this place.

Great information Jeremy. Everyone should be a rain maker !
Of course, I've been blogging for a long time (here and on another site), but your post is still an excellent reminder of how to do it right for success.
Thanks for sharing these great ideas on how to get better ranking with our blogging.
Thank you for making a difference in real estate marketing and launching me on Active Rain!
So happy to be a part of this professional group of RE people. The education here is top notch.
I did a Google check... and she's STILL there!! this is really encouraging... this really encourages me... did I tell how encouraged I am about this??? ha-ha! This "AR Google Juice" seems to have nailed the right ingredients!!
Very nice post Jeremy. I really like getting on the first page of Google.
Thanks for your thoughts Jeremy. I'm new to ActiveRain and still deciding if I want to become a Rainmaker. I have my own self-hosted wordpress blog and I'm not sure if I want to pay the large fee monthly to have one with activerain. The Localism site is a nice addition to the package, but it looks like they aren't taking any more agents for that?
I have had several agents tell me the same thing. Can you shed any light on that Localism issue???
Hey Jeremy,
I enjoy blogging and the fact that it also helps me get business! Thanks for posting!
