Finally, after numerous requests from members, and months of hard work, ActiveRain added the Google Analytics Widget to Outside Blogs today. Google Analytics is a free service that provides detailed statistics about visitors to your blog. This only applies to the ActiveBlogs, ActiveRains Outside Blog Platform.
How To Install the Google Analytics Widget
1. Go to your ActiveRain Outside Blog and Click on the
link.
To create a new ActiveBlog (Outside Blog) CLICK HERE or go to your "My Home" page, and Click on the "Outside Blog" link located on your sidebar. It will be on the left hand side of your My Home page.
2. Click on the "Widgets" link from the toolbar at the top of the page.
![]()
3. Click on the
button to open your Blogs Widget Manager.
4. From the "Widget Manager", using the pull-down menu, select the "Google Analytics" option. Next, Click the "ADD" button and you're ready to install.

5. You'll need to register your Blogs Domain (URL) at the Google Analytics Site. Once registered, you'll be given an HTML "snippet code" that you'll need to add as shown in the box below. Use CTRL+C to copy the code from GA, then CTRL+V to paste the code in the snippet box of the widget manager. It's very simple.

6. Once you have registered your Domain name, and added your (snippet), Click on the "Install" or "Update" button, but only click on it one time. If you do click "install" more than once, you will see additional installs which can be removed very easily. Just use the "delete" link if this happens.

7. Your Google Analytics will now show as an installed Widget. You can edit or delete the widget using the "Edit|Delete" links shown above. NOTE: Nothing new will appear or show up on your outside Blog, so to check your stats, traffic, and reports, you'll need to go to your Google Analytics Account for those details.
TIP: You can use the "Reorder Widgets" button to change the order and placement of widgets, but this has no bearing on the Google Analytics Widget since there's no images that will show on your sidebar.
8. Now just click the
button, and you're done! Time: 3 minutes.
Now you can track your visitors, get statistics galore, see where your traffic is coming from and much more.
If you find for any reason that you are NOT getting any data or reports for your Blog, here's a video that will help explain how to make sure you have completed the above steps properly.
9. Last step: If you'd be so kind, and click My Outside Blog so I can test that everything is working OK.
HUGE Kudos to the AR TEAM and programmers for making it happen today, thanks guys! :-)

Wow - that sounds awesome. I might just have to get my outside blog started so I can see who, what, when, where and why people are "visiting" me! Thanks!
Brad - I'm on it. Should have it installed later today. This should be a very insiteful tool. Thanks to all
Brad - Thanks, your outside blog link did not work
Yay!! Huge kudos to the AR team indeed! I know that many of us have been asking for this, and now here it is. Thanks so much!
BTW -- I just tried to click on the link you have for your outside blog at the end, and you're missing the "d" of your name in the link:
http://activebrasblog.com/
Petra - thanks, I can't believe I did that. Try it now. :-)
Jim and Maria - I thought ActiveBras might get more hits!! ROFL...
Good timing with this post.
I just added the HTML for Google analytics to my blog and website.
Now I can add it to my Outside blog, too!
Thanks,
Ken
Bridget - yours is waiting and ready to go for you anytime. Just go to your My Home page to set one up.
Brad - Guess what - it worked :) Also, I finally signed up to upgrade my outside blog, followed your instruction on the google analytics and installed the code.
I put the snipet in...and it doesn't say update...it says install...so I click on install and it doesn't do anything.
Sally - you not only installed it right the first time, you did it right 7 times!! lol~ You should use the delete link on the sides to remove 6 of them, and leave the 1 to start your GA tracking.
BTW - I also left you a VM message on your cell. :-)
Brad...
Well this oughtta give 'em something to play with. Just the word analytics makes my head hurt :)
TLW...ROAR!
installed but not tracking yet. I will give it a little more time.
Brad - I'm on it. Will go check it out as soon as I return from my errands. Can you say BookMark?
Is there a better team on the planet than the AR team??!! Once again, you guys have knocked it out of the park! Thanks for listening to our wants and needs and consistently coming through... This is exciting stuff... will install it today!
Brad - A big (((((HUG)))) and thanks to the AR staff and programmers for the addition of Google Analytics for our outside blogs. I just installed the code to my outside blog in about two minutes flat...yippee!! I'm assuming that it will take about 24 hours before we start seeing any tracking stats like you normally do when registering new domains with the Google Analytics program. Your outside blog is working okay! :)
P.S. Will this work with our regular AR blogs too or just with the outside ones?
yes!!!!!!!!
9 steps...
It's going back on all my blogs so I can look at ActiveRain blogs in comparison to my WP blog...
Just rub it in Brad...thanks for chatting.
Sally - we're talking story on the phone right now, but I gotta get back to work now so bye.......
BTW - Congrats on your Daughters wedding, Hawaiian weddings are the BEST!! :-))
Brad there is definitely a bug in it. I got the same thing Sally did. When you press install it does not indicate that it is installed. It acts as if it did not work. Then you hit the button over and over trying to get it to work.
It does work though and seriously thanks! This is bigger news than sliced bread!
Oh Brad, thank you!!! Putting that on there tonite.
Yippee!!
Hey Brad just to let everyone know when setting up there google analytics not to set up there outside not to use there sub domain names. I was having a problem with it and went back and changed it now to EverythingTamarac.com instead of JeannetteNeerpat.ActiveRain.com. Just sounds so much nicer and not that many people are using the domains that you give. So give them a heads up, it was very simple to do!!
Nice enhancement for the outside blogs. Are there any plans for us to get detailed stats on our regular AR blogs? MyBlogLog only gives us so much info, and I would love to have everything in Google Analytics.
Hi Brad,
I get the same error. If this were a contest, I'd probably win with installing Analytics 8 times. Fixed it. If you could check it out? Thanks much.
Hooray! You guys rock! I'll do this when I get home...any trouble I'll be calling you! :)
Hey, tried to set up and it is not showing for http://www.lynchburgvablog.com. Am I doing something wrong?
Is now showing up. Tracking is indication a start date of Feb. 27. Will it track backwards?
Brad - I had a similar problem to Sally's and you might want to mention in to the developers. It clicked, but never reloaded the page or anything - just seemed to hang, so I figured it was broken. By the time I clicked it a few million times, I went back to the blog, saw your response to Sally and investigated - sure enough I had installed it a few times. I don't know what Sally is using, but I'm Mac/Firefox - perhaps there's something to that? I got it all fixed though and Google reports it is now tracking. Can't wait to watch the keyword searches.
Looks good for outside blogs....I'm going to check into this further.
Thank you,
Patricia Aulson/Portsmouth NH Real Estate
Brad - This is quite possibly the coolest AR-related news that I have seen in months! Thanks!
I should know that if I procrastinate long enough, you'll make things easy for me. I've been wanting to learn about Google Analytics for some time now. No excuse. I'm off to do it now. You know me, I'll be back if it doesn't work!
Brad-I have the same problem with Matt and Sally (using IE). I have hit the 'install' button quite a few times, but never confirms that the widget is uploaded. I'll keep checking it...maybe exit out and trying coming back in?? (BTW...I still get the Internet Explorer Script Error everytime I try to exit out of my blog!!)
Yep...once I closed out and came back in, I saw ALL the google analytics that were installed. I went ahead and deleted all but one. Must be a bug...but it's working! Thanks!!!
Brad: I've been unsuccessful with adding widgets to my outside blog. I'm going to follow these directions step by step.... THANKS.
Brad, I'm back. When I put the snipet in the box (which says install not update). I press install and nothing happens.
Never mind. I read the comments by Terri after I posted the last one and went back and they were there. Sorry.
This does work for the group blogs, right Brad???
If it does, I can finally post a blog about our Group Blog for Christianity and Real Estate....to show how effective it is in bringing potential clients to us.....
So...do tell, Brad...will this help me and the group?
=-)
Brad - i set up the analytics on the Hammersteam site or I should say Pascackvalleyrealestateblogs site , but it didn't take when I pushed the submit button. What gives? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the new tool to obsess over, Brad!
This was an easy one, thanks Brad! I added it to my outside blog. I don't understand why my outside blog has never come up in searches. My ActiveRain blog comes up, but not my Outside Blog through Active Rain. Do I need to do something to make it show up? Thanks very much!
Hi Jen - I just did a google search and here's what came up, not sure what yours is showing: #1 :-)
I still don't know what to do about my outside blog... ;-( Do I need it?
Petra - glad it worked for you.
TLW - it sure is great to have you back... non-analytical and all! lol~ (wink & a smile)
Michael - you might want to give it a day or two to start tracking. May take even longer. Have Patience.
Bob - I can say errands, but not that other word. haha!!
JB - thanks for the kudos, your comment was a "HomeRun!!" :-)
Donna - Big (((HUG))) back at ya. This widget only works on AR Outside Blogs. Can I still keep the hug?
Maureen - there is no comparison!! (just kidding...)
Shane - our techs know about the "install" button and the capability to add GA multiple times. I have also updated the post to include what happens if you click on the "install" button numerous times. If it's a bug, you can count on them getting it fixed right away. Now can I finally get some meat for that sliced bread? lol~ Thanks buddy. :-)
Jeanette - excellent point. Make sure you change or setup your domain name first like you shared in your comment, this is a very important step to complete before doing anything else with your Outside Blog. Great talking to you today, thanks for the call. :-)
John - check out my last 4 FAQ posts, there are 4 other stat trackers you can use for your AR internal Blogs. I'm not sure if GA will work on ActiveRain domain Blogs. That's up to the programmers to check out. No date or confirmation as of yet. ActiveStats and others work fine though, I think it was addressed in my last post.
Judy - we're on it. I also updated this post to warn members of the "Infinity Install Feature!" lol~ Thx.
Midori - Would love to chat but this is really easy, so just call to say hi instead.
Norma - I don't think it Google Analytics tracks backwards, but I could be wrong.
Steph - :-)))
Matt - we actually did that just to mess with YOU!! AND IT WORKED!! LOL~ roflmao...
Connie - I updated this post to say "Install" as I was in the update mode when I did the screen capture. sorry.
Terri - Glad it's working for you now. Not sure why you're getting that IE script error when you logout. It sounds like some kind of Internet Explorer issue to me. I just downloaded version 8 to see if it's any better than previous versions. Still checking it out. You can always use Firefox as an alternative.
Kat - I'll take a look at your Outside Blog and see if there is anything I can do to fix that. :-)
Alex - Group Blogs, Individual Blogs, they are all the same now. This widget works on all outside blogs.
Bob - there is no "submit" button so I'm at a loss on that one. I'll go take a look at your Blog and see how you set it up. Be right back....
Wendy - it has been an obsession for sure!! lol~
Susie - you still need to call me, I thought you were going to call me a month ago. What happen?? I can help you with it, but you'll have to pick up that phone and ring me the old fashioned way ok? :-)
Bob - OK, I'm back. You installed it fine, here's a screen shot of your GA widget installed:
Kat - I saw you had installed the Twitter Widget and it looks and works just fine. I also went in and installed a "search widget" and your "Categories" links and everything worked ok on my end. Maybe it's the browser you are using. Make sure you have IE 7 or higher, and maybe consider Mozilla Firefox as an additional browser too. Just a thought...
Feel free to call me anytime if you need some help. :-)
Well, now, this might encourage me to start an Outside Blog. Excellent work AR. You are a savvy group of wonderful people. Cheers,
Very awesome...Not I just want to add a meta tag so I can set it up for Google Webmaster Tools...
Rock on !!! I just sent an email to you this morning asking about this I think ! Thanks !!! Will look to install it in the next day or two ! Woo hoo !
Hi Brad - I am curious when you will be addiing the mybloglog tracking feature as well? How about sharethis too!!
Another great feautre. As always thanks for everything you and the AR team do.
I'm going to take 2 more blogs, and install this in the morning. I look forward to learning about what it will do. I had enjoyed checking the data on clustermaps, but just deleted this from my blog, after one of their ads took me to my local competition, and now I'm receiving daily listings in my email from them (the competition). Seems more like a magic show than anything else, to me, but I appreciate you teaching us some of the tricks! Thanks, Brad!
Great timing I just started my outside blog two days ago, ill have to give it a try.
Something that I've been secretly wishing for. Thanks for giving us one of the most powerful access - to our own stats.
What about Clicky? I have really been liking Clicky instead of GA.
Brad - Thanks! It was super easy - I just signed up my outside blog.
I am wondering what a better word for how much the AR team is appreciate and the level of respect and downright awe that I/we have for you. I am thinking a lot about customer service, thinking ahead of the game, strategy and support could be written. I'm thinking a book maybe out before too long. You all are absolutely fantastic and much appreciated.
THANKS BRAD I'm going to give this a shot. I'm still computer challenged when it comes to installing things like this but with your detailed instructions I'm hoping it will go smooth!
Always Something New and Better... the fun never ends - I think you, the AR Team, and programers are fantastic! Now, I just have to keep up with you all!
Brad, Thanks so much for this info....
Brad, I was just having a discussion today about this. Whether to pay for an outside without being able to track results or not. AJ
Excellent news Brad! I've just bookmarked this post for future reference.
Awesome Brad! Question...Doesn't Google Analytics and GetClicky do the same thing? I have both for my AR blog, but do I need both?
Brad - Thanks for checking that out for me. Kinda weird the way that worked out but it did. Thanks yo guys rock!
More new things to do. There is always more to do than I have time for. This sounds like a good program.
Brad: Looks and Sounds great ! I went to set one up.. I need to register and set up my domain name and come back and set this up.
Brad - I am sorry I meant submit....lol My bad :-)
Brad,
I had the same issue as Sally. It says install, I click, nothing happens. I click don managing widgets, then go back in to manage widgets and it brings up the google analytics install and does not give me a listing of my widgets or the opportunity to delete or install anything else.
Thanks for your help,
Okay Brad, I'm all over it...I haven't even successfully added any widgets due to the fact that nothing happens...but I like the idea of adding google analytics....thanks as always. ;-)
Off to set it up, Brad. Thanks to AR for this one. I like tracking stats, but don't do enough of it.
Jeff
Yes, you can absolutely still keep the ((((HUG))))! I'll even send along a big MWA too! :)
Thank you so much for getting this done. I'm off to click your link and then set this up on my outside blog.
Brad,
Thank you for the heads up. I knew I could count on Active Rain to keep working on making the outside blogs better and better. I will get this going right away.
Brad,
I just tried to do this and I did cut and paste the code into the widget. I clicked install and nothing happened. Any thoughts?
Anyone having the same issue as Jodi......
Once you enter the code and hit 'install' it will act as if nothing happened. Right after that, hit the 'cancel' key and it will bring the widget management screen up and it will actually show the 'installed widgets' in the widget management panel with the Google analytics widget there. I know, weird for the time being but when you hit 'install' it's actually works and hitting 'cancel' afterward will not actually cancel it.......if that made any sense.....
Jorgen is working on a fix for that 'install' button not redirecting.
thanks for the post and for another great feature
VERY COOL!!!!!
I've been wondering how effective outside blogs are, and now I'll be able to tell, every single day. What a way to give us the tools to continue to improve our content and exposure.
Can we add google analytics to our main AR blog, or just the outside blogs? Would LOVE to have this widget tool on the main blog as well....
Brad - Google analytics page is telling me I have no code installed?? Do I use the url for your server OR the true name that I ie (gainesvilleflrealestateblog.com) or your true server url gainesvillehomes.activerain.com as the default index when you EDIT the settings?
Never Mind....It's recognizing the code now. Sorry for being a ding bat
Yea!!!! I am thrilled with this new feature. I think I love you (or whoever made it happen)!
Finally! ! ! And thanks to you techno-gods at Activerain. We all appreciate all of your hardwork in making this "stuff" work so seamlessly for us.
Actually, I thought we discussed getting together at RETech South but I wasn't aware of why you weren't there until afterwards. Will call you! Thanks.
great job guys. I was wondering if you were going to do google analytics. I did install the widget, and waiting for the tracking to be installed. Thanks again.
Boca Raton Homes
When I click on widgets on my outside blog, the only option I get is to upgrade my blog. No 'Manage my widgets' button appears. Do I have to upgrade it before I can install Google Analytics?
Hi Brad, Good post. Thanks for sharing.
Best - Sash
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is exactly the good news I needed today!
- Kelly
Hi Brad,
2 questions.
1) Is there a way to exclude our own visits from Google Analytics?
2) Are you going to offer a StatCounter Widget for the outside blog?
Very nice - you guys are always improving the services we receive. Thank you! :)
Amy - there are far better reasons to have your outside blog up and running besides having the ability to add the google analytics widget. Call me if you need some details... :-)
Stephanie - this post was written for you!! :-) I had just received word that this was launched and just below it was the email from you. How ironic is that?
Bill - we're always growing in the rain, the ability to add those tools is just around the corner. We already added the text widget, the HTML widget is coming soon...
Mara - that's a great point about third party tracking widgets that folks need to look out for. (depending on what part of the industry you're in) Google Analytics has no advertising so you should be ok with it on your blogs and sites.
Lane - I use clicky as well, no reason you can't use both to compare, right? I have found that every tracker I use on my Blogs or sites brings back different results and reports. It's nice to compare the stats and find the consistencies.
Kelly - that's about the nicest comment you could ever leave. Thanks, all of the AR staff work really hard on and behind the scenes here, so we really appreciate when members like you are obviously so grateful, it means a lot to us. :-)
AJ - and they'll just keep getting better too. Hope your discussion included that as well. Nice to hear from you my friend, hope you are doing well. So How's that coffee over in Contra Costa???? We should try it sometime.
Amber - you can use both. I have 4 different ones on mine just to compare the results. Funny how one covers things the other doesn't and how the reports and stats vary from tracker to tracker. (see my comment to Lane)
Teri - you can always call me if you need some help. The AR widget interface is really state of the art in my opinion, and just understanding how it works can make all the difference in the world.
Donna - we all love those X's and O's in the rain! Keep em comin... :-))))
Fran - I was informed by the support team that the install issue was hopefully to be corrected late last night, I haven't tested it yet, but I will in a few.... See Bob's comment #77 for a good explanation of what was happening.
Bob - thanks for covering for me while I got some much needed zzzz's last night. I think this got fixed, but I'll go test it now to be sure.
Penny - this particular post is only in regards to the AR outside blogs. The widgets work differently than they do on the ActiveRain internal blogs.
Absolutely ROFL right now - I'm beginning to wonder how many responses are in this single comment and debating scrolling back up to count yet faced with the fear that if I lost this comment right now for any reason, I'd probably not respond to anyone else for the rest of the day. I just wanted to share that with you... you should be laughing really hard if this has ever happened to you. Funny enough is that this single comment is taking up your entire screen and more isn't it? I'm really on the floor laughing hard right now. I think I just hi-jacked my own post... I mean comment. hahahahaha!!! OK...where was I....
Christine - now I'm really laughing hard, you had an AHA moment right in the middle of a comment... just like I did above. It's hilarious how we just have to share our thoughts sometimes no matter where we are at in life (or in a blog or comment) too darn funny.
I do seem to be laughing alot this morning and don't know why?
My wife must have put something in my coffee..
Heather - sure can't miss feeling the "love" in that comment!! Dare I say who really made it happen? lol~
Susie - I was set to be at the RETechSouth, but I know you understand why and what happen. So Thanks, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you when you have some time.
Joette - you would need to upgrade your blog to add the widget, there should be an upgrade link on your "My Home" page. You can also start one from scratch, just click on the outside blog link instead.
Kelly - you're welcome. I noticed you weren't logged into AR when you commented. This removes any backlinks to you and opportunities for other members and readers to access your profile or Blog. You should always login to AR first before commenting, and the added bonus is that you get points each time you comment, but only if you're logged in. just fyi... thanks for the comment!\
Today's FACT - this single comment sets the ActiveBrad New World Record for the "longest wall of words and comment responses" in his history on AR! The only one longer was the one that got deleted last month when his screen suddenly decided to refresh after 30 or so responses. YIKES!! Funny how I'll never forget that... HAHAHA! urgg!
Brad - When I first read you comment above, I didn't see that it was your record - I almost threw down the gauntlet.
Brad - thank you so much for posting this about google analytics! You are the best!
Matt - HOLY COW! I'm handing the record over to you my friend! That's the longest comment string I have ever seen. You should have seen the one I had with 30 or so....when I lost it, I really lost it... if you know what I mean!! lol~ I didn't comment to anyone else the rest of that day! haha. Could you imagine if yours would have disappeared? OUCH!!!
So you get the AR Guiness Book of World Records Award for the longest AR comment ever.. ;-))
Thanks Brad...I'm going to wait till you check your email...my outside blog has been disabled for awhile now...need some help with it as the font, title and everything is extremely broken...
Brad - I thought you might enjoy it. I couldn't believe it when I actually went and looked at it. If it had been lost, I probably just would have posted a comment saying "I wrote back to all of you, but it disappeared. When you find it, I hope you'll enjoy it." I'm with you, I think I would be forced to walk away. Doubt I'd even blog or comment on another blog - for awhile. Of course, then I'd start missing it and come right back and do it again.
My outside blog wouldn't let me log in. :(
I use google analyitics on all my sites. Maybe if more AR members use it they will get a better understanding of how google works and th relationship between their content and their traffic. Right now too many are reading featured posts written by people who are not SEO experts and they might not be getting the best ideas or advice.
BRAD....HEY BRAD !!!! (yes, I am screaming......) I just had to do this.......... This comment SHOULD put me at 100,000 points !!!! And YES.....I want my new badge
Sonja - I'll check it out and call you as soon as I get the chance.
Matt - that's just too funny! I'll have to do a post later about this...watch for it.
Shannon - make sure you are logged into AR and use the link that is located on your "My Home" page instead of going directly to your Outside Blog URL. Let me know if that works.
Teresa - reminds me of the term "garbage in, garbage out. Is there really such a thing as an SEO expert? lol~
Christine - Congrats, ConGRATS, CONGRATS!!! I'm honored to have your comment here be the one that gets you your 100K points. I see the badge above so looks like it worked. Oh yeah, by the way...CONGRATULATIONS!!
Brad, you've been busy! I wanted to stop by and thank you and the Active Rain staff for adding this to our aresenal list! I really appreciate your taking the time to help me out with my outside blog. I don't know where you find the time to serve so many members. It's very much appreciated!
Thanks so much Brad. you are aways so helpful and have great ideas. i installed Google Analytics and mybloglog. I hope it worked.
How do you go about checking the analytics?
I have been slacking in the rain for awhile and am just catching up on all the great new features that have been added recently. I am so glad I read your post. I am off to add Google Analytics right now :-) Thx
Connie - my door is always open to our members. Thanks, it was really great talking to you.
Randi - you can check your analytics stats and reports by going back to the GA site where you registered. If you watch the video in this post, it will show you how. :-))
Kristi - no more slackin!! Welcome back...
Just installed. Thanks, Brad!
Allright Brad! I'm looking forward to learning from the results on this new tool. Thanks!
Brad - need your help I guess - I thought I had it set up but it is not working -- can you call me and help, Bob Foust 714-322-9097
I have Google Analytics back up now on my WordPress blog, my two outside blogs and my old deserted but still gets a sh*tload of traffic RealTown blog so I can look at all of them....
of course traffic going to my stuff on AR and Localism is NOT measured...
This is coinciding with a very exciting ProBlogger challenge that is starting soon, he suggested getting Google Analytics up on the blog for it but any stats package would do... I would have just used Site Meter for my WP blog because it works fine but I like being able to compare blogs.
Bob - Calling you right now... :-)
I love it. Thanks for adding this feature. I track my other blogs on analytics so this is great. This is why I love AR.
I finally took the time to add this, and now i'm ready for the 31 days of blogging...
Brad-- Obviously --we all needed this great information. I am still trying to figure this all out! Thanks!
Hi Brad,
Great info, and I need to motivate myself to blog more. I currently port my blog to Facebook, but should set up an outside blog too. God knows I waste enough time doing nothing - I should be building my business instead!
Tim, who thinks he should get a small meaningless award for being No. 1 in his state with fewer AR points than all but the rawest rookies.
Just added it. VERY EASY! Thanks for the step by step! KM
Brad, I installed this the the day you blogged about it. But for some reason, I don't understand what to do with it now. Do you mind explaining it to me?
Connie - you can do anything with your outside blog you choose. I wrote a post on how to maximize your settings and also did a training webinar on how to best utilize what you've created. Here's a couple links for you, feel free to call me if you want to dive into this in more detail, I'd be happy to help you out with your outside blog. :-)

Here's some other posts regarding outside blogs you may find useful too....

Brad, as always thank you. I'll go over all of these and if I still don't understand I'll call you.
Great. I have added it. I have been meaning to ask about how to do it. I thought it was already available.
Brad,
This is another fantastic upgrade you guys have completed. Thank you. :)
Steve
Thank You for the walk through, it was very easy.
I'm bookmarking this because I usually do somehting wrong when trying to set-up these things. I'll give it a try..thanks Brad!
I;m a little late to this party but thanks again Brad.
Glad I just found this. I really need to do some tweaking to my outside blog, and this post will help.
Donna - always better late than never! :-)
John - I didn't think you ever missed a post I wrote, you're one of my most faithful and consistent commenter's. And did I mention how much I appreciate that? I do. Thanks.
Brad or Bob, I'm pretty positive that I am installing google analytics correctly since I got it to install on my website www.LivingIndianapolis.com correctly, but when I enter the code into my outside blog www.IndyBlogSpot.com it comes back with this.
If I leave and come back and do everything else described in this rather long thread it still does not show up at multiple installations. When I go through google to verify installation it says its not picking anything up. I used the indyblogspot.com domain in my tracking and all the info appears to be right, the widget just doesn't want to accept it.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for the help in advanced!
Hey Brian - thanks for the heads-up, I'll let the tech support team and programmers know. They will have to take a look and see whats happening or why it's happening. You can always send in a supoort ticket to support@activerain.com when these issues pop up in the future. Thanks. :-)
I'm with Bill! I have more trouble with MyBlogLog than anything! I can't seem to get to the analytics, etc. Hoping for a post on that too! As for this one...I'm off to work AGAIN!
:-)
This is great. I am amazed.. will have to check it out. Thanks.
Looks like Google Analytics is up and running again fort he outside blogs. Good Job AR!
This is great, now if I can figure out how to get that grey shadow of a woman replaced with my mug....
Hi Jane - if you need help with that, you know I'm here. :-) Just click on the customize link in the black toolbar across the top of your outside blog, and click on the upload button next to the sidebar image option. Just call me if you need me ok? Thanks. :-)
Would be very valuable to have google analytics on our regular AR posts. Is that possible?
Dave - I totally agree, that's one you'll have to take up with the AR programmers though. :-)
we can't use Google analytics on our Active internal profile blog?
Hey Nick - unfortunately Google Analytics won't work on AR Blogs for whatever reason, but there are other solutions and programs that will like sitemeter and getclicky etc. There's a couple posts I've written that will help you with this if you need.
